Trenton Clark and Michael Mullins are the founders and directors of Valesco Capital. They have extensive experience and expertise in the identification and securing of quarry assets, most recently through Earth Commodities Pty Ltd (‘Earth Commodities’) and Future Quarry Resources (‘FQR’).
Earth Commodities is an aggregation of 7 quarries in Queensland and had a turnover in excess of $50 million per annum. Valesco Capital conceptualised the idea of consolidating a group of quarry assets, developed the business case, raised debt and equity financing, negotiated the terms of the acquisition of each of the quarries and oversaw the management and operations of the company. In 2009 Valesco Capital sold their investment in Earth Commodities via a trade sale.
FQR was established in 2011, to develop green field quarry sites, taking advantage of the growing disparity of supply and demand in South East Queensland. FQR has identified four promising sites. FQR is currently in the process of undertaking due diligence and securing government approvals.
Quarries Australia is the third group that the principals have established in this sector. They are well known to all key industry individuals and are aware of all major M&A activity in the sector.
Valesco Capital does not have a large and costly infrastructure. It is fast moving and the experience of the principals allows for quick decisions when required. This level of flexibility and responsiveness is unmatched by large public companies.

Ministry of Commerce Introduces Newly Revised Measures for Foreign Investment Management
On the 6th of October a new policy commenced to help to facilitate overseas investments by Chinese nationals. Previously there was a complicated and time consuming registration process before any funds could be transferred out of China for foreign investment purposes. Under the new policy investors simply notify the Provincial Commercial Department of their intention to invest in an Australian business, and a Certificate of Foreign Investment Registration will be issued within 3 business days. This is then presented by the investor, to the bank at the time the fund are to be transferred.
This is a major shift in policy and it is now significantly easier for Chinese nationals to have their funds released to make investments in Australia. This had lead to an increase in enquiries for the Valesco Capital investment opportunities.
